In the Master’s programme in Mathematics (Double Degree), students learn theories and methods in fundamental areas of both pure and applied mathematics. There are courses in the following subject areas: algebra, foundations, algebraic geometry, differential geometry, topology, analysis, numerical mathematics, probability theory, and statistics.
Students engage with current research in these fields and are guided toward independent scientific work, such as in their Master's thesis. By studying at both the University of Bern and the University of Konstanz, students gain international experience and, upon successful completion, they receive two Master's degrees.
The Mathematical Institute offers part-time positions as teaching assistants to students with excellent academic performance, allowing them to assist in bachelor’s level courses.
