Dean's Office

The Dean's Office acts as a hub for administration and communication issues between the faculty, the Executive Board of the University of Bern, lecturers, students and other groups/offices.

The responsibilities of the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Science can be divided into the following five categories/areas:

Dean

Administration of the faculty; represents its interests vis-à-vis external bodies/organizations. Serves as the Chair of the Faculty Council, the Faculty Board and various committees. Acts as an interface between the faculty and the Executive Board of the University of Bern.

Dean's Office Superintendent

Preparation and execution of faculty business in line with the regulations governing the activities and organization of the Faculty of Science and university guidelines.

Secretariat of the Dean's Office

Responsible for student affairs in accordance with the Regulations on Studies and Assessment at the Faculty of Science (RSL) and university guidelines.

Resources

Planning of financial and human resources and their allocation in accordance with university and faculty regulations, including associated monitoring and control.

Quality Assurance

Ensuring and optimizing operations and administrative processes in teaching, research, and administration.
