Präsidium, Vertretung Geowissenschaften

Prof. Dr. Carolin Schurr

As long as sexism, racism, classism and ableism still characterize the academic world, we need to engage with this world - know it, understand it – if we are to transform it.

Vertretung Mathematik/Statistik/Informatik

Prof. Dr. Frank Kutzschebauch

To solve current societal problems, we need the potential of everyone. This is only possible if we give equal opportunities to every human. As women are underrepresented in our faculty, I support women in science.

Vertretung Physik und Astronomie

Prof. Dr. Susanne Reffert

Both as someone working in an academic field in which women are severely underrepresented and as a mother of three children, I have firsthand experience of some of the challenges women experience in academia and issues the equal opportunities commission is aiming to address.

Vertretung Chemie, Biochemie und Pharmazie

Prof. Dr. Paola Luciani

As a woman in science and mother in the Equal Opportunity Commission, I have the chance to contribute to the representation of diverse talent, to stand up for an inclusive academic environment for every scientist independently of their background, and to support caregivers in the development of their academic career.

Vertretung Biologie

Prof. Dr. Claudia Bank

Academic work is creative work, and diversity begets creativity. I want to make academia more inclusive so that diverse ideas, personalities, and approaches are heard and implemented into better science.

Vertretung Oberer Mittelbau

Prof. Dr. Benjamin Towbin

Vertretung Unterer Mittelbau

Dr. Alannah Brett

Science needs to reflect the diversity of humanity and the potential of all humans to be scientists, but that potential needs understanding and it needs nurture without barriers.

Vertretung Stand der Studierenden

Julie Perey

At the University of Bern, students are given the opportunity to help create change, and I intend to use mine here. Having equal opportunities should be a given - since it’s not, our job is not yet done.
